Josh Pollak knows real estate inside and out. He began his real estate career as a Residential Home Builder and Remodeler. He has been buying, selling and building homes in Virginia, Washington D.C. and suburban Maryland’s most exclusive neighborhoods for over 25 years.
His decades of experience in the industry translates to an in-depth knowledge of every aspect of the business. To say Josh knows his way around real estate is an understatement. In fact, Josh has been in the business his entire life. As the grandson of a commercial builder, he came by his passion for construction naturally and spent his youth remodeling their family home and working for local Custom Builders. After graduating from The American University with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Josh returned to his first love, starting his own residential building business.
His professional style has evolved but his enthusiasm for real estate is still alive and infuses all his interactions.
His vast knowledge of construction and the real estate landscape gives Josh a unique insight identifying quality homes and opportunities for his clients. He leverages his insider knowledge to guide them through every step in buying or selling a home. His success is based on his exceptional level of integrity and attention to detail.
When he wasn’t building or selling homes, Josh kept them from burning down having served for 15 years as a volunteer firefighter in Maryland, rising through the ranks to become a Lieutenant. In his downtime, he enjoys anything on the water, especially boating and fishing with his sons, Connor and Declan.
Together Josh and his wife, Karen, are a dynamic real estate duo handling over $50 million in transactions over the years. In 2015, they moved their family to their favorite place in the world – Charleston, South Carolina and built their dream home on Isle of Palms. They are especially passionate about working together in their favorite place to make the purchase of their clients dream home a reality.
About Karen Joyce
As a native of the “Star City” of Roanoke Virginia, Karen Joyce has always been a competitor. Whether it’s striving toward professional success as a realtor or using her position to help those in need, Karen always aims to be the best at everything she does.
After graduating from The American University in Washington D.C. with a degree in chemistry, Karen began working with her husband, Josh, to create a high-end homebuilding business. She threw herself into the endeavor, obtaining an MBA from the University of Maryland and applying her new business acumen to grow the family venture.
Over the next 25 years she honed her skills in real estate, buying and selling over $55 million in properties. Her knowledge, integrity and outgoing personality brought success in the highly competitive real estate world of Washington D.C. and Maryland. Karen knows how to navigate stressful situations to stay cool under pressure and guide her clients through the process with grace and positivity.
As the daughter of Irish immigrants and a mother of two boys, Connor and Declan, Karen has never forgotten where she came from and the role model she wants to be. She’s volunteered as a Big Sister to underprivileged girls in Washington, has worked at Camp Funshine (a summer camp for kids with AIDS), served in soup kitchens and contributes a portion of her income to various charities including The MS Society, The Salvation Army and Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina. She has also served in various PTA roles and is currently the treasurer of Sullivans Island Elementary PTA. In her freetime, you’ll find Karen playing tennis, tagging along on various boy adventures with her sons or traveling to the Emerald Isle to reconnect with her large extended Irish family.
